These two houses are the winners of the Solar Decathlon 2007 and 2009. surPLUShome, the black one, was the winner in 2009 and the more wooden design, called "Made in Germany", was the winner in 2007.

The surPLUShome came back some weeks ago from traveling around Germany to promote building houses that can produce more energy than they need for running themselves. So both are back now near the place where they have been designed and built by students of the Technical University of Darmstadt.
