Guitarra Azul • 11th Annual World Music Festival
Pritzker Pavilion, Millennium Park, Chicago, Illinois, USA
September 22, 2009, 12:30 pm local time
Downtown workers and visitors were treated to free, daily lunchtime concerts in architect Frank Gehry's acoustically perfect Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago's Millennium park. On this day, the local band Guitarra Azul performed original works in their own unique style, perhaps best described as "Rumba-Flamenco," a blend of traditional Spanish flamenco music flavored with Latin, Indian and Arabic percussion undertones above a funky American jazz bass line. The result is a delightful and satisfying international and multi-cultural mix.
