This brief collection of the Earth's most important performers meet here for the show known as Hanging Lake. Here, they come together to form this hidden treasure a mile up from the famous Glenwood Canyon in central Colorado. This bowl in the Earth delays the water's journey toward the Pacific in the first of many canyons it will experience en route to that ocean. Its gentle time-out here in Hanging Lake gives sanctuary and life to the grasses, trees, fish and others (see the beaver's evidence?).All of these actors working together will eventually rip asunder the ancient rock and release this pool to its eventual demise.

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
This pano in itself is a performance. Its was to be shot with a 10.5mm lens allowing for an entire 360x180 immersive view. Unfortunately, that lens accidentally stayed at home during this trip. Never before had I tried to shoot a full 360 cylinder(much less as 2-row 360 cylinder) with a non-fish-eye zoom lens. A little quick improvisation and I was set to try a 60 image pano. I'm pleased with the outcome and plan to start even more finer-lens shooting.
