The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts will be home to the Kansas City Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and the Kansas City Ballet.

The construction is part of a massive downtown revitalization, which includes the Power and Light District, the Sprint Center and the Crossroads Arts District.

This unique structure will house an 1800-seat theatre and a 1600-seat concert hall. The iconic steel and glass structure will have a transformative effect on the architecture of downtown Kansas City when it opens in the Fall of 2011.
