Think Green in Toronto

Early morning, Saturday, September 20, 2008. I am on my way to feed three cats for my neighbours. The alley behind my building in the downtown Toronto, historic area within first 10 original city blocks from the year 1793, was the shortest way.

I was thinking about "colours" and what to make for this WWP event. There was a "Think Green" bin, right in front of me, and just left of it one of the most secretive and colourful, inner courts in the whole city

This hidden gem, and places like this in general, I always consider quite significant contributions to the necessary connection with greenery especially in the urban cores of megapolitan areas. It is also in line with global efforts to "green" our communities. Green is significant COLOUR indeed. The result is visible and I really hope that you will enjoy it and start "Thinking Green" on the path towards revitalization of our urban areas.

Rano je jutro, subota, 20. septembar, 2008. Na putu sam da nahranim tri macke za nase komsije. Aleja iza nase zgrade u centru Toronta, u okviru prvih 10 gradskih blokova iz 1793 godine, je najkraci put. Ispred mene na putu je "Think Green" kontejner a sa leve starne tajnovita basta, unutrasnje dvoriste obliznje poslovne zgrade. Ovaj skriveni biser, i mesta kao ovo uopste, uvek sam smatrao za znacajan prilog neophodnoj vezi sa zelenilom specijalno u ovakvim megapolitanskim gradskim sredinama. Takodje je i "na liniji" sa svetskim pokretom za "ozelenjavanje" ljudskih zajednica. Zeleno je zaista znacajna BOJA. Rezultat je vidljiv i nadam se da cete uzivati u njemu i pritom poceti da razmisljate "zeleno" na putu ka revitalizaciji nasih gradskih oblasti.
