Last days of a butcher's shop

The small butcher's shop of Andre van der Woude will close down on October 1st. Together with their assistents Marion and Jos, Andre and his wife Elly have provided a highly appreciated service to their customers for 39 years. Nowadays, it has become virtually impossible to launch and sustain this type of small-scale business in the Museum Quarter of Amsterdam. There is no butcher's shop left in the vicinity and the supermarket will take over as a poor substitute.
