The Kiel-Canal divides the city of Brunsbuettel. So there is a north part and a south part. For people living in one of these sides the ferryboat is the means of transportation. Also to the industry settled there. The ferry is free of charge and a tourist attraction, you pass the Elbe-locks and by chance there is a huge ship just entering or leaving the locks.
Ships like the "Norwegian Dream" or "AIDA" frequently pass by. Also a visit of the locks themselves is very nice.
