Vienna Metro

111 meters long, a performance of 3328 HP, air conditioned and designed by Porsche - that's what i use to go to work every day. It costs me 45 EUR a month to go virtually everywhere in Vienna - every 3-5 minutes, 365 days a year, with no parking problems and without wasting a single drop of gas. I even don't have to care about service and repair. Hey, that's a damn good deal! And it's even cheaper than what i pay for a car every month - just for owning it!

If you want to stop people using exploding dead animals for their mobility, you have to offer an alternative. Vienna has one of the most dense networks of metros, tramways and trains in the world, and you can see that it actually works.

Unfortunately, in rural areas the responsible persons think that they have to cut costs by discontinuing public transport (instead of investing in a dense, well-working network), forcing people to use their car. This is definitely not based on long-term considerations and and it is actually extremely expensive as we all have to pay the price for polluting our environment.
