Power Storage

This energy collection farm contains two wind generators and two solar arrays that generate and supply the storage batteries.

These four banks of batteries each store 360 ampere hours of power. Total capacity of 1,440 ampere hours direct current (DC) power is passed to the power inverter located behind the stone wall where it is inverted into 110 volt alternating (AC) current. This supplies power for the home.

Energy in excess of the home electric requirement is passed to the Texas Electric Power Grid where it is temporarily stored and is supplied back to the home at night time. Yes, the electric meter often turns backwards during the day storing excess power to the GRID. Effectively the resident only pays for six months of power while using twelve months of service. Its called 'Net Metering'.
