Caption
The Gernika Bridge is dedicated to the city, people and victims of Gernika, Basque country, Spain, which was destroyed by a German bombercommand during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. As another sign of respect, the bridge is spelled in the letters of the Basque language where it is called Gernika instead of the common name Guernica which is Spain
This bridge is in Pforzheim, as this City shares the same fate as Gernika and having a partnership with it. Pforzheim was also bombed and totally destroyed at the end of the WW2.
So this is a memorial that war only produces mourning and pain.
