The Viaduct of Banchet was Built between 1886 and 1891 for the railway line of Vivarais (Ardèche). This five arches viaduct crosses over the Doux river near the village of Arlebosc between Boucieux-le-Roi and Lamastre. The locomotive on this image is a Mallet 030+030T N°414 specially manufactured for the line of Vivarais and service entrance in 1932. This 33 km of metric gauge track, is part of the old network of the Departmental Railroads builds of 1886 to 1905 in Ardèche running since 1969 by the Company of the Tourist Mountain and Railroads (CFTM). You can visit their website here.

The weather at Equinox time was really nice here in Eastern Massif Central mountains, with a terrific sun lighting for landscape panorama capture. I spent one day and a half in the Doux Valley of Ardèche, running after trains around several bridges I knew. Carrying train time table in one hand and camera in the other one, I tried to be at the right place at the right time to shoot train crossing the bridges. Crazy week-end...
