Entrevaux - Alpes de Haute-Provence (04) - FRANCE","Entrevaux was built at 11th century to protect against sarazin attack and against 'Le Var' flood.

Louis XIV decided to have a strategic place with Entrevaux and asked to Vauban to build a new fortification: this work remained intact can be regarded as a prototype of the new military architecture developed by Vauban.

Structure defensive of Vauban: fortifications and citadel, 3 doors with drawbridge, Bridge of the Royal Door 17th century on the Var, with only one arch, strengthened with the ends, ramparts, way strengthened towards the citadel.
