The Texas Electric Power Grid is governed by the Texas State Government
The grid is administrated by a Not for Profit organization which controls the usage of over 1030 nuclear, natural gas, wind and coal power generation units that provide power to the grid. This power generated is operating over 52,700 mi (84,812 km) of managed and monitored transmission lines.
This power is then distributed by another Not For Profit company. It services more than 140,000 mi (225,308 km) lines going to (read Humanity) businesses, schools and residential properties.
Many Retail service providers manage the billing and financial collection from the communities that use electric power.
Just 1 of those line services our home. Here you can see the line going from the pole to the service point.
Also, you can see the 1 GB fiber optic line going from the pole to our home service point.
