Mead, the oldest alcoholic beverage known to man, is wine created by fermenting honey with water, instead of grapes. The Melovino Meadery is New Jersy’s newest, and only meadery, started in 2014 by Sergio Moutela.

From an early age, Sergio had been helping his grandfather make wine. As an adult he began experimenting with wine making and brewing beer. This eventually led to his discovery of mead. Today Sergio is an award-winning mead maker with an ever-growing following.
