Barrier beaches form across the openings of shallow bays on the Pacific Coast of Northern California & Oregon. These beaches are changed by the waves along the coast so every time you visit it is a 'New' sight to see.

I took this pano at the South end of the 'Freshwater Lagoon' barrier beach at the foot of the rocky point that anchors the beach. We were driving the length of the CA1/US101 Coastal Highway from Santa Monica California to Olympia Rainforest National Park in Washington when we stopped here where US101 crosses the opening of Freshwater Lagoon on the back side of it's barrier beach.

Timing the waves to match was a challenge but it worked out.
