At the underground station „Munich University“ there is a famous fruit stall, run by Dieter Schweiger aka „Bananen-Didi“. This fruit stall is known as „Obststandl Didi“ – in the local Bavarian idiom.

The fruit stall became even more famous when a German PR-Agency decided to produce a parody of a corporate public relations movie. Usually these movies are produced for global players like BMW, Samsung, LEGO and the like. Common to all of those movies is the extensive use of buzz words: quality, integrity, effectiveness, innovations, ... All those words we like to play bullshit-bingo with.

This movie is called „S’Leben is a Freid – Die Mutter aller Image Filme“ – „Life is such a Joy – The Mother of all Image Movies“. You can watch this movie at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXIsTTH2wzg. It is a pity, the movie is only available in German. Watching the panorama of the Obststandl Didi however, you will experience no language problems at all!

Bananen-Didi has been running the fruit stall for over 30 years by now. Working out in the open has kept him healthy. He says that during all that time he did not have to keep the stall closed for a single days due to disease – a healthy man who enjoys both his work and life.

P.S.: Photographers tend to watch closely. So in the closing credit of the image movie you can find a prominent list of Sigma lenses. Perhaps the movie was not produced „just for fun“ after all?
