A hearse is a funerary vehicle used to carry a coffin from a church or funeral home to a cemetery. In the funeral trade, hearses are often called funeral coaches. These took the deceased to their final resting place. This 1930 Packard is part of the extensive collection of the Museum of Transportation in Caracas and was used only for transporting children and young ladies, hence the white color represents innocence and purity and taking into account that the infant mortality rate in Venezuela in 1936 was 98 deaths per thousand, which is to imagine that this vehicle could be used frequently. Additionally, the transport museum houses a fabulous collection of machines that made history in the ground transportation in Venezuela in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
