This is a view on the machine floor at Hat Works, Hat Works is the UK’s only museum dedicated to the hatting industry, hats and headwear.The first machine you will see is a Fur former, this sucks the fur onto the large cone to form the hood shape this one came from Christy's hat factory in Stockport it was made by Turner Atherton, it is over 100 years old.
The next is the Multi Roller this shrinks the hoods down to size ready for blocking, this machine was made by Oldhams of Denton in the 1930s
The next one is the Hardering machine this settles the hoods ready for shrinking also made by Turner Atherton.
The Hat Museum is located in a former cotton spinning mill called Wellington Mill (built in 1830–1831) before becoming a hat works in the 1890s.
This building has a local landmark, a 200 foot (61 m) chimney built in 1860.

Equipment
Nikon D80 DSLR fitted with a Nikkor 10.5mm lens on a Nodal Ninja head. Stitched with PTGui, converted to cube faces in Pano2VR, base of cube edited in PaintShop Pro X3 and equirectangular image finished in Pano2VR.
