The initial view you see is looking directly over the twin spans of the bridge which go over Friar Gate. As you rotate the panorama you will see the very overgrown area that was once Friar Gate Railway Station. There is a then and now photograph of Friar Gate Station here.
The last passenger train to crossed over this bridge on September 5, 1964. Thereafter the line was just used for goods services, Friar Gate Station itself closed on September 4, 1967. The last train ran over here in May 1968.
