At the beginning of the last century, people coming from Europe settled in Pantanal, in the middle of Brazil, with the goal of ranching cattle. The exploitation of cattle was very important for the economy of the country. However, many of these exploiters emerged from the country in times of crisis and simply abandoned their properties. This church is part of this history. Near the Paraguay River, in the middle of Pantanal, we found this farm abandoned for more than forty years.
