The challenge: Produce a 7-minute movie in 48 hours. Write a script, shoot, edit and deliver. That's the essence of the 48 Hour Film Project, an international event open to anyone.

6 p.m. Friday, June 19. In the drawing for the genre of film to be made, the General Pictures team gets "fantasy." A restaurant, 1618 West Seafood Grille, has been prearranged as a possible location. Scriptwriter Jere Rowe labors into the wee hours.

8 a.m. Saturday, June 20. The crew assembles on location. It's a sweltering day, but fortunately the entire shoot can be accomplished inside the restaurant.

11:35 a.m. (The panorama). Director Stephen Hyers works with actors Amy Swaim and Jay Jones as the crew preps the shot. Under Director of Photography Mark Wagoner, the production proceeds smoothly.

4:30 p.m. Saturday. Shooting wraps. The restaurant opens in an hour.
6 p.m. Saturday. Editing begins.

7:26 p.m. Sunday. Completed movie on DVD delivered with four mintutes to spare.

7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 21. Deadline for Greensboro's 48 Hour Film Project.
