The National railway system may be a mess, but the Sheffield & District Society of Model & Experimental Engineers runs on time every other Sunday (plus bank holidays) all Summer long.

Fares are 80p for a tour of the well kept grounds in Ecclesall Woods, Sheffield.

The society has existed for over a hundred years and has apparently been building and running model engines for all that time: http://www.sheffieldsmee.co.uk
