That's one of those things that usually is both on top of your "most excitement" list and on top of your "most scary experience" list. I know it's on both my lists. Therefore I very much enjoy to go to an amusement park and try all the thrill rides.

Whenever I'm queueing up for an intimidating ride that I never tried before, I find myself being very quiet. While in the queue around me little children and elderly people seemingly are totally at ease conversating and having fun, I'm quiet. My eyes are a tad bigger than usual, my heartbeat performs a breakbeat and my deodorant slowly drowns. Just like the last time I queued up for a new coaster.. and the time before that.. and the time before that...

I'm happy to say that with coming of age it gets better though. Somewhere in my thick skull the little man pressing the adrenaline button is noticing this ritual is getting a bit repetitive. Well, either that or he is suffering from RSI. That's good news, because scared as I may be at some moments: I'll never chicken out.

This time I tried all the coasters together with my 10 year old nephew Joey. He turned out to be much more of a man than I was at his age. I had a great time seeing him enjoy the rides together with me. Thanks, Joey!

The little coaster featured in the panorama - which admittedly is not scary at all - is called the Okidoki and can be found in the amusementpark Bobbejaanland in Belgium. Bobbejaan is a South african word which translates into Baboon. Bobbejaan is the stage name for the founder of the park: Bobbejaan Schoepen, a very colourful person that is a composer, actor, guitarist and theme park owner.
