After spending way too much time in virtual worlds, I have popped back into the real world of virtual tours to add this submission.

In 2007 the University of Oxford purchased an island in the meta world Second Life (Linden Labs) to experiment with this new technology and its potential impact in teaching and learning.

To create a presence on this island they launched a design competition to create a Virtual Oxford Island for the University.

I won the competition and created a number of core iconic buildings to allow staff and students to explore this new engaging approach to social learning environments.

The panoramic library of images from the Virtual Tour of Oxford allowed me to create and texture photorealistic virtual buildings.
