Soon after joining the International VR Photography Association I attended a conference at UC Berkeley. There I found a thriving community of professionals and enthusiasts looking to share setups and ideas and to learn everything panoramic.

Some of the members decided to take a quick trip to Yosemite National Park the day after the conference, where a segment of our community hiked up to an early morning panoramic treat at the base of Bridalveil Fall. Tom, Ian, Jook and Donna stand on a prominent rock below, while Matthias climbs a bit higher. Zoom in on the full-screen version for best results. Zoom way out to see all of the falls from this close up point.

Bridalveil Fall plunges 188 meters (620 feet) to a loose collection of rocks below. At the summer solstice I found it possible to approach a pool at the base. In wet seasons this viewpoint would be in the midst of the fall.
