For the last four years the NOOD regatta has been hosted by the Royal Canadian Yacht Club and the National Yacht Club. I have been a member of the National Yacht Club for a number of years. Four years ago I got involved with the organizing committee doing the shore side logistics for this event at the NYC. This event is one of the highlights of the summer at the National which brings together the Toronto sailing community and many travelling sailors and their boats. This pano was shot on the morning of the second day of the three day regatta as the sailors prepared to go out to do battle for the day.
From the Sailing World Web site
Created by Sailing World in 1988, NOOD (National Offshore One-Design) regattas attract close to 2,000 boats
and more than 30,000 competitors and spectators annually. Each event in the series features three days of sailboat racing for one-design models from 20 to 70 feet in length. In addition to local sailors, sailing's top stars - including America's Cup and Olympic champions - are well-represented at the NOODs. Competitive sailors rate the NOODs as the top national event in each region of the country.
