Arbour - Kasteel Arcen

This arbour with gently clattering fountain is the centre of a number of rose gardens. On a sunny day - as here when I took these shots - it offers some shadow as well. Great for the tired visitor or panographer! (Pfffff...........)
I visited all the rose gardens and though all the roses are varying degrees of the colour white, yellow or red, their names do vary! The rose growers definitely use their imagination when inventing names for their product; look here what I came across:
The whites---> Rosa America , Merle Blanc, Tom Tom, True love, Symphony, Karin Blixen, Swany, Cinderella (little), White summer snow.
The yellows---> Peace, Golden Border, Gold Quelle, All gold, Golden wings, Limburg star, Sunmaid, Yellow ocean, Release.
Reds--->Rosa Gaujard, Royal Dope ? Roter stern, Electron, Virgo, Pergille Poulsen, Birgit, Lilian, Red imp.

These gardens are situated on an estate that belongs to a castle named: Kasteel Arcen. Nowadays it is commercially run and open for visitors. Of all gardens I chose the arbour because nothing else looked finer!

I took these shots at “Kasteel Arcen” which has many beautiful gardens on a large estate, not far from where I live . I arrived with sunshine and some clouds in the sky, a fine opportunity for shooting! I started near a large pond with fountains, flower-beds and the smell of all kind of flowers in the air.
When I was recording the sound of the fountains my attention was drawn by the croaking of frogs next to where I stood. They stopped however when I came near and unfortunately they didn’t begin again until I left.
After a while I came across a beautiful arbour in the middle of a rose garden and the joyful clattering of water made me think with steadfast certainty that this was the spot to shoot for the wwp.

Worthwile to mention: I lit up the fountain with the built-in flash of the camera , and used the dodge tool (photoshop) to lighten up the statue on top and the little dripping waterjets.
To get a good S(ignal)/N(oise) ratio-during sound recording- I held the mic as close to the waterjet as possible.
Just listen......... to the clarity of the sound, and if you listen carefully you can even hear a bird singing and people talking in the background !
