Located south of the Sir Adam Beck power station in Queenston, Ontario (just north of Niagara Falls, Ontario). The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens were originally established in 1936 as a School for Apprentice Gardeners. The School of Horticulture training program is designed so that the students are responsible for the maintenance and development of the Botanical Gardens. The gardens are spread across 100 acres and includes rock gardens, woodland and shade gardens, a bog garden, landscaped water features, arboretum, seasonal bedding displays, aviary, herb and vegetable gardens, and a 2300 specimen rose garden. The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is also located on the grounds.

This pano was shot where the north walking path loop through the wooded section converges at a waterscaped mill-pond complete with a small waterfall. The surrounding area also includes a number of plant beds along the walking path.

Equipment

Photo hardware includes an Olympus D-40Zoom 4mp camera, a Nodal Ninja 3 (thanks Bill Bailey) Pano head on an ancient Velbon tripod. Software used was PTMac 4, Photoshop CS2, and Cubic Converter 2.2 on an Apple Macintosh PowerBook G4 (Aluminum) 1.5Ghz computer.
