This panorama is of the gardens in front of the Confederate Memorial Chapel at the Confederate Memorial State Historic Site in Higginsville, Missouri.

There are two main buildings visible in the panorama. The further of the two is the small residence of the Park Administrator. The closer of the two is the chapel itself. i hope to be adding more panoramas of this location to my personal website soon.

This was once a hospital and nursing home for former Confedrate soldiers of the American Civil War. Also on the grounds is a cemetary for Confederate soldiers. The last remaining resident died in 1950.

The hospital became the administration building for the Higginsville Habilitation Center. This facility is dedicated to the development of mentally disabled clients and is part of the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

There is a beautiful park surrounding the site with several ponds for fishing as well as a large picnic area with shelter house.

Next door to this site is the location of the new Missouri State Veterans' Cemetary. Look for that site to show up in future WWP events when applicable.
