
Water Waiting to be Used or Abused

From here on, the brook is temporarily split in two separate branches. Part of it is used for cooling purposes in the "Maxhütte Rohrwerk", a steel pipes factory nearby. The flow there is regulated by the remotely adjustable dam at the far end of the footbridge. The rest follows the old brook (underneath the viewpoint) until it joins the Vils river a few kilometers downstream, however it's frequently "abused" as a dump - if you look closely, you'll notice the cylindrical shapes in the water to the right of the bridge. For some people it seems that walking across this bridge while holding on to bottles or beer cans is just too much multitasking...
