The Netherlands are a river delta area.
So we have a lot of water.
Some of the lands are lower than the sea level, we pumped the water out of the sea behind selfmade dikes. We did this in the past with windmills. Here you can see a typical dutch scenery. Farmhouse, lake with a windmill, and a lock with a bridge. I think a dreamplace to live.
