Ideas for this quarter's theme changed over time for both personal and public reasons. This final picture, while not visually spectacular, represents many elements that convey change to me. This is at the entrance to Hewlett Packard's Corvallis Oregon site, where much inkjet development occurs.
This picture was taken in the middle of a work day, yet the buildings are mostly empty due to employees working at home because of COVID-19, per HP management instructions. The street is also much less busy than normal, and both of these represent many changes happening all over the globe due to the pandemic.
On a personal note, I retired in February 2020 after working on this site for 28 years (35 years total in HP). One of the buildings in which I worked for many of those years can be seen through the trees. Thus, this picture also represents a significant personal change.
Also going on at this time is a hostile takeover attempt of HP by a competitor, Xerox. It's not clear yet whether this will be successful, but even the presence of such a possibility has caused some changes to the company's operations. And of course if the takeover is successful, there will be dramatic changes to the company over time.
