Canvas, tempera vs lithograph

For 2 months the exhibition named "Deyneka - Samokhvalov" brought together 300 exhibits from 37 museums and from 9 private collections.To simplify identification of exhibits, 
captions with capital letter C mark works of Alexander Samokhvalov and captions with capital letter Д (cyrillic D) mark works of Alexander Deyneka.

We stand near significant work of the Soviet Epoch of the 1930s - Girl in T-shirt. Alexander Samokhvalov created this painting in 1931-1932. The canvas was introduced to wide audience on retrospective exhibition "Painters of RSFSR over 15 years" opened on November 13, 1932 in Leningrad. In 1933 the painting occupied its place in collection of State Russian Museum. In 1937, it was awarded the gold medal at the International Exposition of Art and Technology in Modern Life in Paris.

The painting is encircled by four lithographs printed before 1935 (but probably after it was completed). Lithographs differ not only from each other, but they differ from the canvas. Artist increased field of view of image and performed it in chalk manner (using wide grainy strokes) instead of simple translation of (reverse, mirror) image.
