A Bridge Too Narrow For My Bike

One nice day in the autumn of 2014 I stood up very early in the morning to catch first my bike, then a train from Munich to the Austrian border and finally the early morning light for the "Ruins" event. So at about 9 am there was some time left for a little bicycle tour.

There is a bicycle route alongside the river Isar back to Munich and I followed its path for a while. After 2.5 hours I reached Walchensee where my route followed the Eschenlaine valley to the west. It is located north of the Ester range in the Bavarian Prealps, offers some really nice views and is a perfect ride when you use a mountain bike or something similar that can be used to follow a forest road. Another three quarters of an hour later I reached this beautiful place where I decided to have a little break and shoot some more panoramas.

Actually I didn't try to cross the bridge with my bike since the turnstile on one side only allows pedestrians to pass. Luckily there is a ford a few meters away. No need to lift the bike and a lot more fun.

The valley leads to the village of Eschenlohe where I took the train back to Munich. What a beautiful day.
