Traditional Chinese New Year follows the Lunar calendar and this year it arrived on February 8, 2016 - Year of the Monkey. The celebrations goes on for the rest of the month. This most important holiday has family members traveling home and across town for family reunions, dinner banquets and going out to watch a dragon dance parade.

The Chinese zodiac (Chinese: 生肖; pinyin: shēngxiào) is the classification scheme that assigns an animal to each year in a repeating twelve-year cycle. The 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac is an approximation to the 11.86-year cycle of Jupiter, the largest planet of the solar system.
