The weather forecast was completely wrong – thank goodness!

The weather forecast announced a cloudy day with not exactly a good view of the sun. What a pity! On that day we wanted to observe a partial solar eclipse – at our location a bit more that 70%.

But the day turned out completely different and we could observe both the eclipse and some observers in bright sunshine. Well nearly bright sunshine. It did not get totally dark as we had seen it happen during the total solar eclipse of 1999. But the light got somewhat darker and the colour of the sky did sort of change.
