Since I was a child my family has enjoyed walking in the Berkeley Hills. This particular trail, now officially the Seaview Trail, used to be known as "Dog Run" because it was the only place in the park where dogs were allowed off leash.

The East Bay Regional Parks District consists of 65 parks and protects 112,000 acres (45,000 hectares) of beautiful natural landscape. There are 1200 miles (1900 km) of hiking trails within the parks, plus connections to other regional trail systems.

At a trail junction just below this location there is a trail sign with medallions indicating the long-distance trails of which this forms a part:

The American Discovery Trail - 5000 miles coast-to-coast

Bay Area Ridge Trail - 550 miles of ridgeline routes encircling San Francisco Bay

The Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail - 300 miles following the Mokelumne River from its source in the Sierra Nevada to San Francisco Bay

The East Bay Skyline National Recreation Trail - 31 miles along the Berkeley-Oakland Hills
See other panoramas of the San Francisco Bay Area and The City of San Francisco on my website.
