People can be forced to a limit that means having only a small range of space due to accidents, diseases, disabilities, mental disorders, punishments/jail, etc., not to speak of financial limits or just not having the opportunity or freedom to reach further.
That boy in his room sitting on his bed is back home after a another long hospital stay. As he is not allowed to step on his left leg for some further weeks or months his range of getting around on his own is limited to where somebody helps and sits with him.
Still he has quite a range of books, toys, experimental games and gadgets. Even the TV can overcome boundaries, let him visit countries, watch worldwide documentaries. The Internet is such a tool as well. Such a small packed room can provide endless virtual space, even a person’s mind alone can do so.
How the panorama was done:
Camera on small tripod on bed on which I walked around on the bed.
Imported images on single layers, blended in Photoshop. I needed to transform/distort those that were closer to the tripod and appearing too huge compared to the others (most often a tripod is put in the middle of scene while here it was in a corner of a room).
The boy didn’t want to get photographed as many teens ;-) so I copied the face several times with various opacities and positions plus motion blur on top of each other.
