Taking a photograph of birds at very close range in the wild needs some skill or means that I do not have: they quietly come and peck at the seeds. They seem to not mind having a camera very close by while they feast off sunflower seeds. I have managed a way to keep the mirror up permanently so as to shoot the most silently that is possible. But they hear the shutter of the reflex camera followed by the move of the curtain and they fly away before the photo is actually taken!
