Any evening sitting with the family around the table I was fascinated by the look of thin-cut food held against the light. No matter whether fruit, vegetables or meat - anything looks familiar but different if cut thin and shining in the back-light. So this is a cross-section from what was available in our fridge and in local markets during the shooting period.

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
I wanted to do this for ages: Shoot thin cut food backlit. This event was the final kick to do it at last. I used a clean glass plate on two chairs, two tungsten lamps beneath the chairs shining from slightly sideways up on the glass plate and my tripod with panorama head tilted sideways such that I could point the camera straight down. Two sheets of black paper helped to prevent the light shining directly into the lens.Each slice was shot separately. The hardest part was to clean the glass after each shot and of course to cut the objects thin and even enough to have them translucent. And it was fun to eat all the slices afterwards, especially the garlic and the onions :-)
All images where masked in photoshop, imported into PTGui and manually set to different fields of view in order to have them at different sizes. There are a total of 40 different images, most of them loaded 4 times or more, in total 168 source images. All of them where arranged manually in panorama editor.
