New Zealand is home to a diverse population from all parts of the world, Race Unity Day celebrates that and shows that there is "Unity in Diversity."

There is support for new migrants to improve language skills, get housing, jobs to help them in their search for a new place to establish themselves.

Diversity showed in the ethnic costumes and backgrounds of the participants, unity showed in the way they all worked together to create a celebration.
