The "Liether Kalkgrube" is a previous lime pit, where many other minerals surfaced. This is due to a giant, 4000 m deep salt floor, which raised and pressed all other layers to the surface. This way, the small pit reveals a look back, more than 250 million years in time - way back to the beginnings.
