The Kilometer Zero, that marks the beginning of the measurement of all the highways in the Mexican Republic, it is represented by a monument made after the cosmographer Enrico Martínez of german origin, which real name was Henrich Martin. It is located in the south-west corner of the Metropolitan Cathedral, in the crossroad of Monte de Piedad and 5 de Mayo. The statue is of a woman that represents the mother country this is a piece of sculptor Miguel Noreña (1878).
