The beginning of this year's flower bulb season in the famous Dutch flower bulb exibition Keukenhof was a very cold one. Temperatures of only 5 °C, a strong wind, some rain or sleet: not very favourable conditions for making a panorama. Impossible to keep the lens dry and the wind almost toppled the tripod.
Not very favourable for the beginning of the new attraction in the Keukenhof either: a 45 minute boat trip with small, flat bottomed ships through the shallow canals in between the flower bulb fields. The official opening was just before the panorama was shot, and below the windmill you can see the prominent guests boarding the boats for the cold experience.
Oh well, the weather will surely get better and the boat trip will certainly be a success!
By the way, the Keukenhof is open this year until May 18th.
