This is me in my shop in the initial stages of creating a bowl from a piece of Koa wood. I chose this as my "Beginnings" entry for three reasons: I am very new to woodturning, a bowl is being born and my first choice - showing lava from the current eruption of Kilauea entering the ocean- proved to be very uninteresting, with no access to the flowing lava and just a bunch of people standing around taking pictures of each other! Such is life in Paradise...
