武德殿發源於日本警察系統，是練習武道的場所，高雄市的武德殿興建於1924年，台灣光復後荒廢已久，2004年開始修復工程，2005年2月完工後方重新對外開放，現在委由委由「社團法人高雄市劍道文化促進會」經營管理，置身其中相同的空間、不同的時代...彷彿能夠聽到數十年前劍士練習時的氣息聲。
