9600 years ago, when the glacial ice melted, this mountain was just a very tiny island a few meters high above sea level.
One can see a forest on the top of the mountain, a cap. The forest indicates good soil on the parts never touched by the sea, but at the sides of the mountain the rocks are bare and the trees are sparse due to the exposure to waves that washed the soil away. This is very typical for the hills higher than 280m above sea level, the highest shore line. Skuleberget is 294m high.
The mountain has a good ski slope ( http://www.skulefritid.se/ ), a nice café at the top and climbing steps, "via ferrata", at the steep eastern side ( http://www.highcoastcenter.se ). The European highway E4 passes just at the side of Skuleberget.
