Taken just after sunset on a cold night, the atmosphere is of calm and quiet with few workers returning home and no tourists.
This area of the Clyde is undergoing massive redevelopment that will continue for decades. This is the former site of an extremely busy, industrial centre, which had harbours and shipyards (check out the Google Maps link below to see the disused harbours and docks).
The bridge from which this panorama is taken is the last footbridge before the river widens to become the Firth of Clyde. The bridge splits right at this spot to allow small ships to pass.
Visible is the Glasgow Science Centre, (anticlockwise). the new BBC Scotland Studios, the SECC, and the Moathouse Hotel.
