The Reading Terminal Market opened as an indoor farmers market in 1892 underneath the then newly built state-of-the-art Reading Railroad train shed. It has seen boom years, financial hard times and threatened closure (in the 1970s and 1980s), and complete revitalization. (If you're interested in more details, I would recommend reading the history highlights on the official web site.)

For me, the market is a source of weekly groceries, as well as a tourist attraction that I bring out of town visitors. It's a great place to catch a bite for lunch, and it has free wireless internet access.
