The community food & health cooperative is a focus for community members striving to, as Helen & Scott Nearing would say, "live the good life". I thought what better example of a community "marketplace" than the Belfast CO-OP serving the surrounding mid coast Maine communities. I thank them for allowing me to include them in this edition of WWP. From the Belfast CO-OP Store flyer: As a cooperative, our operating philosophy is based on democratic control, economic empowerment, improving community and concern for the environment. Founded in 1976 by local folks who wanted a steady source of natural wholesome food at fair prices. (& a comfortable place to relax)
